2 lbs, poor guy: but hey: Congrats...... unless you got three 8lbs kegs you are going no where.
2 Lbs: its 335 ROUNDS
Of course, if you shoot as much as you type on the keyboard, you will shoot and burn a barrel every year.
I’m getting very good speed with my barrel with the IMR variant.
Really? How does one judge that?
Ok, I’m out. But do people really need to make comments like the one todbartell made? What does that accomplish? People should realize that there are other choices to be made. Besides the “well…it’s designed for the cartridge” or “it’s the most popular” blanket statements that keyboard warriors make all of the time. It really is no wonder some of the best minds have left the building when it comes to contributing here.
Soapbox rant over. Sorry to those that I have offended. I guess my only crime was posting a load. Just what the op asked.
Great derail on the IMR 4350 diatribe, guys.![]()
Cleanest powders I have used in recent years are those offered by Vihtavuori of Finland.
I see their reloading website lists quite a few suitable for the 6.5 CM, too.
I have a quantity of 6.5 Staball that I will try also. Dave.
I said I was going to resist buying a 6.5 CM, but Bullseye offered such a smoking deal on a rifle/scope combination that I caved.
It is a Howa [Legacy Sports model] with a sub MOA guarantee. Comes with a Leupold VX3i 3.5-10 x 40 CDS, in Leupold bases &
rings. Unit looks pretty nice, overall. Checked the trigger pull - 2¾ lbs, and consistent. 3 position safety. Twist: 1 - 8"
Also came with a muzzle brake, but I screwed it off and installed the supplied cap. Barrel is 22"
So, my question to all those who load for the 6.5CM, what have you found works for you? I would be particularly interested in
loads using IMR or H 4350, IMR 4451, Alliant Reloder 17 & 19, or Vihtavuori N150 and 550.
Thanks in advance, Dave.

I have loaded up some Lapua Brass [SRP] with IMR 4451, H4350 and StaBall.
Bullet weights : 120, 129 and 140 We'll see what happens. Dave.
Brad; I have N560, RL 22 and RL 23 plus Norma 204 & MRP, which are all candidates
for the 140 grain bullets in the creed. I will be playing with them soon.Dave.
