I'm sure someone will correct me, but I thought the 257 Roberts was the 7x57 necked down to .257 diameter. So a 6.5x.257 Roberts would be a 7x57 necked to 6.5... ie: 6.5x57. Not as popular as the 6.5x55, but still a well known round.

It was a common practice to rechamber Japanese Type 38 rifles to this. Perhaps this is what you're getting?
I've got a rifle in this cal inbound. Can anyone tell be anyhting about this calibre it doesnèt exist in my copy of Cartidges of the World.
