6.5x55 VS. 260 rem VS. 7mm-08

So little difference ballistically between the 6.5 and 260. Have or had both, shot deer with both. 260 wins for me as brass is a bit easier to get. Wont matter soon the 6.5/06 will be a sammi cartridge and both will pale by comparison.

I like my Tikka T3 HV in 6.5x55.
This year I used it first time on whitetails and got two, no problem.
Both short range shots, deer didn't have to be tracked.
Bullet handloaded, it was Nosler Part. 140gr with Re22.
Second deer required shot through bushes and lots of branches, but bullet hit where it was intended.

Nice gun and buck. That's the gun I'm getting too.
 
7mm08

I think the 7mm08 is the greatest eastern cartridge i have come accross so far in my honest opinion. Works well in every aspect of our hunting. It may be a bit light for Elk or MOose at those Western distances but out here Its all you will ever need for big game.
