My father and uncle have gone over to the 6.5 X 55 in the last year or two. Sporters with good glass; they can't be beat. Good coyote guns too, and they'll shoot at a 'yote at ranges they wouldn't with a deer. They rave about the calibur. A friend of the family tricks out under-appriecated sporters with timney triggers and other good stuff. The friend swears that the american ammo is underpowered, he recommends handloading. Claims that the 6.5 is purposefully lowballed by many US writers, because; like the 9mm Parabellum vs .45 ACP thing... nothing the Europeans do can be better than 'merican stuff.
