6 days to go. I have my fingers crossed that this will be the year I pull a tag for bull elk in the zones adjacent to CFB Suffield. Priority 11 on that one, but I've been one year behind the curve for first season action since I started trying. That's really all I have a hope for, unless lightning strikes and I draw goat.

The other draw tag in the house will likely be my wife and her mulie buck around home. Gotta start looking for that one right away, as she still hasn't taken one, and I want her to out do my best (almost)

The girlfriend and I are hoping for either a mulie buck or doe tag around home here, and I much the same as you can hope for a miracle and a first year turkey draw. Odds of that one are pretty slim

I did a lot of hunting last year(moose, elk, deer, bear), only thing I applied for this year is a suffield cow tag, 999 the rest. With P0 I applied for 3 different seasons, but not expecting anything.

Oh, also put in for turkey, think we're 6 if I remember right, not expecting a draw on it either this year. Mostly I plan on following wife around with a packboard.

Really hoping for some mulie tags down south, our group put in for a couple zones, I've been waiting 7 years, so I'm really hoping to knock down a decent mule buck if I get a tag.

I have a priority 11 for bull moose, therefore I'm hoping to get pick this year. I haven't used my 300 Weatherby for a long time and would like to use it on the moose.

I will be pulling my Wainwright Deer tag 1st rifle hunt with a P6 this year. Other than that I 999 everything else. I can only hope and pray for a zama bison tag, I think that would be an awesome hunt.
This year ill be spending some serious time to try and kill a good whitetail with my bow and our annual 10 day elk hunt in the peace country. Still looking for my first bull.
Next year will be my year, Ill pull my cow elk and antlered mulie in the mighty peace country.

I 999 all my draws this year. We're expecting a little girl in the next few weeks so there won't be much time for hunting this fall. If i do manage to get a spare min i'll either just take the pup out for a few birds or maybe grab a general tag.

Our moose camp will have at least 2 tags again maybe a third. I "999" my moose as next year is my turn with another buddy for the 2 tags in camp. I "999" my sheep and mulie buck, and should get my Cow elk. If no cow elk, then I will go for the Land Owner permit for it.

Still new-ish hunter question so pardon my ignorance:
I was drawn for anterless white tail (first time), can I still purchase a general white tail or supplementary? Or am I now limited to the one that I was drawn for?

If you go to: http://albertaregulations.ca/huntingregs/

Click on Licensing and Costs

Scroll down to Resident license costs and combinations, you can look up the available combinations

In your case with the draw for the antlerless WT you may also purchase a WT deer licence (general tag) as well as the suppl. antlerless tag(s)

The two right hand columns go through the licence restrictions, takes a bit of reading to sort it out at first. Make sure you go through the notes at the bottom of the table (if applicable).

Thanks Suka, I was reading through this table this morning and did not realise that the special draw-licenses are separate from this table. I assumed that the white tail deer license and the drawn license were the same to limit the number.

The draw licenses DO count, just if you look at the restrictions it's possible to have an "Antlerless WT deer special license" (your draw doe tag) as well as the others you mentioned. Your doe tag is listed where it says; "a resident may obtain 1 of each of these 15 licenses"

The suppl. WT tag is also in that part of the graph.

The gen. tag is at the top of the list, first one. It's not really called a general tag anymore, but I think I'll always call it that, haha. In the S. zones it's good for a WT buck (excepting a couple of mountain zones), in most of the boreal zones it can be used for either a buck or doe. (I'm generalizing, check the regs for seasons where you're hunting, but you get the gist). Can get confusing but with lot's of reading between the draw booklet and the hunting regs once you get it sorted you'll be golden. I Always carry a copy of the regs with me, even after hunting for about 45 yrs every once in awhile there's something I need to look up, just to confirm.

Ton's of opportunity to hunt here; those who complain simply don't do their research. I'm no expert but I'm pretty anal about the regs and planning. Happy to help where I can.
