Howdy folks, I just got back from the mountains in BC, (crown land), and had a heck of a day plinking. My friend and I were using my Marlin Model 60. We started with using some CCI mini-mags, after several stove pipes, we switched to some cheep Remington ammo (Hyper-velocity), which despite what people have said, ran with more consistency than CCI. We then used up some federal hollow points, finished the CCI and ran with Blazer tell the 500 rounds were gone. Blazer and the MM60 are the hero's of the day. After 500 rounds we encountered no problems whatsoever. That was $20 I'm glad I spent, instead of $15 more for the brick of CCI. Over all, a great sunny day, and a great safe and fun shooting experience for both of us. Here's a picture of our empties :D

Looks like you had a blast! I love shooting in the mountains rather than the gun club... for many reasons but most of all the perfectl sound of the gun's report in it's natural habitat.

Love the 60 also, mine's eaten thousands upon thousands of rounds and is super reliable and one of my most accurate guns.

I'm certainly learning that! We had blast, and next time: more apples... they are a very satisfying .22LR target. Milk jugs were fun too.

Where abouts did you folks go?

We headed up to the logging trails North East of Squamish to a valley, then past that a bit further tell we were far enough in. The SUV we were driving actually made it up a grassy road to the top of the hill where we parked, and found a suitable area only seconds away. We found a 12 gauge shot shell, so we know we're not the only ones who found it. It was a bit over an hour drive from Squamish, and a bit under 3 hours from Vancouver.

A couple hours further and you could end the day of shooting at sloquet hot springs! I love that place, always so many naked women. It's about 2 hours down lilouette river road, past st agnes well.

Bwaaa?! I was a couple hours away from naked women at a hot spring?! That would have been the perfect end to the day, good to know for next time!
