6BR 1:8 bullets

So after months... I went to the range to try those Lapua 105's...

Powder is Varget, bullet seated .010 off the lands.

I did a couple loads of varget, 3 rounds of each and a couple more to sight the scope and to break-in the barrel.

Loads :
A: 29.0 gr
B: 29.2 gr
C: 29.4 gr
D: 29.6 gr
E: 29.8 gr
F: 30.0 gr
H: 30.2 gr
I: 30.4 gr

3 rounds and the scope was almost bullseye.

First 2 loads ( A: 29.0 gr and C: 29.4 gr ) were horrible ! The point of impact was 3 inch to the right.
Then I re-sighted the scope and its started to group well with heavier loads.

Best group was the last one I shot with the 30.4 gr, load *I*

The flyer with the F load ( 30 gr ) is probably me.

My guess is that the new barrel was causing the bad groups, what you guys think ?
The B load ( 29.2 gr ) grouped better than than A and C so that's why I think the barrel was still in *break-in mode* for the first shots...

Do you think I should go higher than 30.4 gr ?

Here's the results :

Statistically speaking, I think you should try a few more than 3 shot groups. The 30.4 charge "looks" good. What speeds and ES and SD are you getting? How's your neck tension? The difference between 29.8gr and 30.4gr charge weights is quite a spread (for me). What distance did you shoot these? Environmentals?

If it were me, I would want some more data and data points to validate those results. But, that's just me.

Distance was 100y which is the max distance at my shooting range.
The wind was calm and the temp was around 25 celcius.

I don’t have any chronograph but yeah, I should buy one before doin more tests.

Next loads will be 29.8 gr to 30,4 gr in 0.1 gr increments. And maybe 5 rounds of each load ?
