Looking to build a 6mm dasher any great ideas tips best places for the action stock trigger etc. would be awesome thanks guys

Ive just come across a bunch of rifles in wildcat calibers and the 6mm Dasher is one of them, Ive done some google searching and. Ive got a "Cartridges of the World". Google has quite abit of different info and the book only has a couple of paragraphs about the Dasher. I guess the main comments from the book are that itll shoot lighter grain bullets in velocitys in excess of 4000, excellent barrel life, and benchrest shooters like it at the 1000 yd event.

Other than that, Ill keep googling and watch this thread cuz its kinda got me interested too.

I now have 2 of them. The first build is a savage dasher ,Savage 12 action, accu trigger- 1-8 twist 29' krieger that loves 108g bergers.
The second build is a Rem dasher, Rem short action , jewel ,1-8 twist 30' lilja , custom br stock that loves 105 jlk's.
Both are fun to shoot . I've shot bug holes with both while fire forming the brass. very easy to load tune.

So are these benchrest rifles or varmiters?

I have a couple of Krieger 1:8 twist barrels chambered to 6 Dasher...one HV and the other Light Palma....on a Barnard S action. Hirsch Precision likely has most of what you would need. I went with .090 freebore and a .269NK.

thanks. Who would you recommend for a good supplier for light weight high end Rem 700 actions?
Looks like Jerry has one. My gun smith had every thing on the shelf to build the rem. Go with the no turn neck chamber for lapua brass

Accurate enough for mid-range BR 600 yds (from what I've read...I'm not a BR shooter). Should be great varmiter as it approaches 243 speeds (probably 100fps less)--accurate...less recoil so you can see impact. I will do one sporter version and may even use for deer.

So, are these really much of a varmiting caliber, or are they really best suited for bench rest?[/QUOTE
The caliber and ballistics are great for varmiting , but the case design is BR so it`s front heavy and won`t feed well from a mag.
