6x55 swede wildcat

Huh? The ARC (advanced rifle cartridge) would fit a Grendel or 7.62x39 527

I have a feeling this is a reference that is going over my head

Slimbo you don’t own a 6.5x55? I thought you would have a 6.5x55 tikka for sure, maybe RJ (TJ) can sell you one

6.5 Arch was an old wildcat, basically a shortened neck and a blown out 6.5 swede case. Gets very close to 6.5-06 velocities. - dan

How does the 6mm-08 differ from the 243 Win?

Anyways, the 6mm-284 makes the most sense to me - same case length as the 6.5X55, but larger in diameter. These no Wildcat based on the 6.5X55 that can provide more case capacity.

There’s always a bigger bear. This is about using my swede brass not performance

That's not the dumbest idea I've heard. In fairness though, I've heard a lot of really dumb ideas! Nowadays, even the 6mm Remington is practically a wildcat, so it doesn't make much difference. You pretty well need a proper reamer though. There is nothing worse than having a bunch of brass or a barrel blank looking for a purpose. I've saved myself a lot of money by giving away brass or dies which were tempting me.

Hoarding is usually a good thing in times like this, like buckmastr says, but it leads to the dangerous condition that you describe. Why did I do that itis

I guess what it comes down to is I should build a different variety of 6mm, and also build a 6.5 Swedish. Good chat guys! Guess I’m in the market for a 6.5 blank :(

As I thought you have NO idea .:p But I DO have a 6.5x55 AI 40 degree. It’s called a SUPER SWEDE by me ;) RJ

How do you like it? The thought has crossed my mind to have a Husqvarna 1600 rechambered to remove any possiblity of hotter reloads going in a M96.

What you call yourself a gun nut? Never rebored a barrel blank before? :dancingbanana:

The 270x55 would really be approaching greatness I bet
