7.62x39 Ammo prices will go up again.

If 7.62x39 keeps going up in price there has to be a point where reloaded 223 becomes cheaper?

Yeah, keep on making shooting more and more expensive to the point where we all quit so avenchualy you will also run out of business. Everyone wins right? By the way other dealers also have SKS for $269 Chinese and $250-350 Russian.

To answer your question, not yet, but, I was talking to my local CTC manager and he said they were down to the last 30 SKS ( $199. Reg price $239), and the new price for his next order will be $212 his cost, so they will be going up, once this stock is gone! Those sks are the crappy ones from North Sylva! He did recently get 4 laminate stock sks in and I believe they are $279.!

I quit shooting sks for a bit now, switched to reloading 223, and ~~all my stocked mil surp ammo were sold to friends' who still want them...I bought so many, when a local Canadian tire store were selling 1440 rds for $225 +HST ....and it was 4 months ago...now they dried up and the new shipment they got is selling at 379 per 1500..my reloads 223 plinking rd cost me 23 cents per after tax, which is cheaper than most of the 7.62x39 mil surp rd now.......sad ~~~

This I what I was talking about, folks will realize that other calibers are equal or cheaper as the price of x39 goes up, same with the rifles, you can get a S&W AR for $700.! Which will you take sks for $450-$500 or the AR!

I have both but the problem is that you can't hunt with an AR,not even gophers. :(
Yes, true enough, the sks has that going for it, non restricted so far, hopefully always will be! But as prices go up, there are other nr firearms/calibers that have cheaper ammo. Either way, the price of sks and x39 will meet an equilibrium, where it is still viable, until of course they run out!

What some people are forgetting is that cheap x39 keeps all other calibers prices down as well. If the surplus dries up it will push other calibers up....we saw this happen in the states with the 7n6 fiasco
