7.62x39 pistol

Sure, it works if you put a rifle barrel on it.

:jerkit: Look again, ... there are SBR's and there are pistols. An AR pistol is not a handgun with a rifle barrel. It happens to have the same caliber as it's rifle counterpart put is classed and defined as a pistol. There are numerous successful handgun designs chambered for what was initially a rifle cartridge. The BFR (and no that does not stand for Barrel For Rifles) is a prime example of how big a round you can actually use successdfully in a handgun (in this case a revolver) design. The Remington XP100 series were popular in the 80's and shot well. They still have a following today. All are bolt action pistols firing conventional rounds as well as wildcat cartridges ( and no that is not a "union" term). There is no reason why the 7.62x39 would not work in a handgun (pistol or revolver) designed for it regardless if it was initially a rifle cartidge. Wether or not it will happen or someone is willing to spend the $$$ on R&D / production is another story.

I read thru your other posts here on the forum and it is *obvious* :ninja: that in your own mind you have extensive firearm experience ...probably as a :sniper: with Delta or something like that :f:P: So newb enjoy your stay here on the forum and keep on sharing your prolific firearm experience with us. I'm guessing you will eventually learn the proper use of the "owned" smiley..... like in this case.

Regards,

44 Mag is Handgun ammunition, someone want to tell all the lever guys their rifles don't work. .410 is shotgun ammunition, I suppose the Judge Handgun, doesn't work either. Think outside the box. If John Moses Browning used conventional wisdom, who knows what kind of crap we'd be stuck with. 30 m1 carbine is chambed in Ruger Blackhawks and AMT autoloaders. 44 mag and 357 mag were designed exclusively for use in revolvers, Magnum Research has built their name on autoloaders using those 2 rounds.
The only reason we don't have a pile of 7.62x39 handguns, is no manufacturer has seen a bunch of $$$ to be made. If their was a big enough market, they'd be tripping over themselves to sell us 7.62x39 handguns.

I've fired single shot pistols in 223 and 308, no big deal really (single shot hunting pistols) lots of fun, great big bang, recoil is very manageable and with the right scope very accurate.

We've been selling a 7.62x39 Pistol for some time now...
