Problem then yours. Have a great day and I hope people can afford the things they used to be able to.

that's one of the great thing about vendors on CGN,,,they all seem to get along great with each other,,as for Westriffle's predicitions or hopes for 2016,,,i'm with you,,,and sure hope you're right,,a lot of your statements are right on the money,,
Happy New Year to you guys too,,

The dollar goes up and down, it was established in the first few pages that this ammo could be bought cheaper from different sources yet this thread goes on and on

IBTL? Westrifle should clean this thread up, at least to keep it on point. If this is where surplus ammo prices are going, it could be worse. After tax it's $0.35/round...

Well I have a new respect for who ever moderates Westrifle's form.
He or she deserves a pat on the back for dealing with internet trolls,
in a very business like manner.
I would have just deleted all stupid comments that were not constuctive
critisisum .
Leaving it in does show that they are confident that their profit margin
is what it has to be.Presently competitive or not.

I try and support my LGS when ever I can.(sales and word of mouth)
When the points spread is high enough I order a case in.
But I don't whine on the internet that the local gun shop is ripping
me off $4 a box.

Hope all the vendors have a good new year.
And that Just-in Untrue-Duo does not kick the crap out of them just for personal gain.

I don't usually participate in discussions like these, but reading all this talk about our low dollar and the inevitable price increases and such got me wondering.. Why didn't westrifle just buy up the stock of other dealers that are still selling it at "old" price, instead of buying it at the ridiculous "new low dollar" price from the supplier/importer?!

I'm sure Tradex would offer bulk pricing to whoever buys the rest of their stock. Shipping skids by truck freight within Canada is dirt cheap. I know this because I've bought ammo by a skid load for myself in the past.

Even if westrifle bought from tradex at their full non-dealer pricing, they could mark it up say 20% and STILL sell cheaper than what they are selling for now.

well, this has kinda got me wondering why you don't? clearly there is a bit of profit to be made

I for one will be stocking up on food for my VZ58 (and 958 when I get the chance to buy one.)

It's far to easy to read into the implications of politics on the Canadian gun owner: a relatively pro-gun Conservative government overleverages the health on the Canadian economy on a geopolitically vulnerable resource, which has several knock-on effects of making the sport of shooting and hunting (among basic expenses in general) more expensive.

Not saying the Libs will be any better economically, and will almost certainly worse for firearms owners, but every government has its effect on the common person in one way or another.

Just wait 'till major oil routes like the Straits of Hormuz and/or the Suez Canal are blocked by conflict and watch the price of oil go sky-high. The Canadian dollar might go up, but at the expense of poor people in some other country.

not to worried about oil from the Saudies,,we have more oil in North America than they will ever have,,we're just bleeding them dry before cutting into our own stock,,pretty smart if you ask me,,LOL

This thread has gone wildly off topic though.

I think the take-away for anyone is that x39 prices (and everything else for that matter) will likely be more expensive in the near future.
Buy now (from WestRifle or otherwise) if you are in the market for x39 and have the budget for it.

I love it. I can go into details but I will avoid for now.
Why don't you buy it. Ship it to your location and sell it with 30% mark up, locally.
It is always easy to give advice. Shipping is nowhere to be dirt cheap. If you are so knowledgeable please send me a link of dirt cheap shipping company I will offer it to customers, thus bring price down.

That would be dirty business in my book, unless prices started going up everywhere and a person was sitting on it and looking to liquidate. Shipping for sure isn't each, freight on the other hand ... lol, what do they call that, economies of scale (being sarcastic here).

Most definitely buy now at previous stock prices, before this price becomes common for the foreseeable future.

I'm not sure if someone has already mentioned it in this thread but there is a great article in the Canadian magazine "Calibre" where Al from Westrifle talks about importing firearms and ammunition from overseas. I encourage people to read it before slamming about westrifles prices, certainly does not sound like easy business. I believe westrifle is one of the main importers from Eastern Europe, and i wouldn't be suprised if Westrifle actually supplied some of the other dealers where people are bragging about good prices.
