Today at the farm where i work, we killed a cow for meat. I used my SKS with chinese sp ammo that i buy back 16 years ago. The bullet are 123gr sp steel jacketed. While prepairing our cow, we find the bullet. The shot was fired about 5 yards aways in the skull between the eyes, and we found the bullet in the neck at the back of the head. You can see on the pics that the bullet did a nice mushroom. We speak of a cow of 1600 pounds. Ilike the 7.62x39 for task like that, i always use it and work well, not too powerfull like 308 as exemple.

:agree:
No one likes blood shot meat.
Also that must be 1 big Canada day celibration for a whole cow to be needed.

Did you confirm it is a steel jacket?

Can you post a macro photo?

I am quite interested in how it expanded.

Just curious, was that Norinco ammo?

Yes, Norinco China Sport, lacquered steel case, steel jacket,122gr sp. I bought thoses many years ago from Century,Montreal, my CZ also like theses ammo. At the time cost about 4.60$ box of 20 so i stocked many box:)

I use the exact same combo (SKS and Norc SP), as my beef whack'r too....Works every time. ;)

Still haven't recovered a bullet though.

Generally I'm quite impressed with Norinco ammo.

Someone PLEASE import some more...I'm almost out. And yes, I know it has been discussed before, but I'm having an Alzh moment.

I've heard the "can't unload the ship in Vancouver" thing...but why not ship to Montreal, P. Alberni/ P. Rupert?

Or is it a pricing issue?

It can not shipped it currently at this time.

Add that to the fact that Chinese ammo was removed in the great NRCAN cull of 2010, means no norc ammo for now.
