You allowed to store a "reasonable amount of ammo" at your place. I suspect that my definition of "reasonable" might differ from someone else's
You can get 1000 rounds of non corrosive ammo now for around $500 I think anyways, so even at that price, its still around the same as .223. Atleast with 7.62x39 you are getting more bullet for the money, and you can Deer hunt with it also if you get some Soft Point ammunition.
