7.62X39mm - Who has the all out best price?

After paying and sitting on a back order list for crates of 7.62x39 from a reputable seller I cancelled my order. This was after 3 months and a different story every time I called. I'm sure someone on this site has done the ultimate, hands down, best price to you chamber.

Who is it? I've found crates locally (instock) at 1200rnd for $225 to crates of 1120 at $299. The retailer in ON I originally ordered from was 1120 at $199.99.


I am in Ontario and have no issue ordering in but I'll be dammed if I'm going to sit on a paid waiting list somewhere.
 
Tradex (see ad at top of page) has crates for $225 shipped. Not bad I suppose but you wouldn't have to wait long! :D
That or watch the EE as it does show up there from time to time.
 
Home Hardware in Yorkton sells for $160 per crate if you buy 5 crates or more. $179 otherwise. I think they are charging $50 per crate shipping too. I live close, so I picked up 6 crates and saved myself the shipping - so it was the best deal that I have seen.

Last year I was able to get them for 160 for 1120.... Now everyone wants 220+ in BC or aberta

I am thinking about buying another few cases. I am going to wait and see how this registry thing pans out. That will also determine if an SKS and another CZ858 gets added to my collection too.

We have sold it all over Canada, here in Ontario you can order from us, from any one of the many dealers in Ontario who carry it.
If you are close to Ellwood Epps for example you could pick up and save on shipping.
What part of the province are you in ?

Johnone, I have it on pretty good authority EPPS is back ordered and that they do not know when they will get it.

I'm in the GTA, I shoot up in Huntsville every other weekend. Work takes me all over the province during the week so I'm open to picking up,

Tradex is almost of it it.

Also, there are many different vintages of the ammo out there, anywhere from 1963 up to 1993

Tradex has older vintage ammo.
 
Correct me if I am wrong, but is the newer ammo really any better? The stuff I have is 1970 something production - I think - and it shoots great. I am not sure vintage is all that important. Price is the big deciding factor for me.

they went up $50 (use to be $199)from their last stock....piss me off

p.s. they have a stack of it now....thank god i stocked up

Powder and primers do deteriorate with age, but a lot depends on how it was manufactured. There are good batches of powder which don't deteriorate much, and there are bad batches which can deteriorate quickly.

I got some from them a couple weeks ago, and they were down to half a dozen cases.
 
Last I checked, around Vancouver Island:

WSS Nanaimo $209 / 1120
Island Outfitters $199 / 1000
Pullen's stopped selling cases, only packs of 20
Gone Fishin' Courtenay $229 / 1120

I know Lever Arms in Vancouver has good prices, but I never make it over there.
 
our local shop won't sell by the crate anymore, in fact they bought crates off customers and sell by the box, as they can't get them like they used to.

NRCAN decided that each package now has to be individually labelled, meaning that sealed cases are now gone forever. It takes a lot of time to individually stick a label on each 10 pack..... hence the price increase.

Yes I received a couple crates today, what a shame, every single package has been OPENED, then closed with staples, then they put 10 rounds labels on every package with a description, then they put 20 rounds label on top of the 10 rounds label because they made a mistake.... And then they spray painted black over all the writings on the crates. The handles are rusted to death, ALSO, RUST on MANY rounds.... THAT SUCKS

It's 1993 production. No need to say I miss the older, sealed crates.

Please do some research before issuing such an opinion, if this were the case how would the military decide on what to send the troops in the field ?
I can just imagine the logistics officers problems " shall I send a 1982 or was the 1986 vintage more appropriate for this outing ?

PLEASE read up on the matter
