"I seem to have read somewhere that ammo brought in to canada has to go thru the US first "
This is the first time I hear this one ??
Why would one do that ??

With the number of german mausers, yugo mausers, and other rifles chambered for the 8mm cartridge, there should be no trouble selling this stuff, especially if the price is right. And from past experience, Marstar has the lowest prices on most things. Remember the M-14 for 399 with 3 magazines? That was one of the best deals ever

Any more news on this stuff? I hope John decides to bring this stuff in. Everyone is having trouble trying to find 8mm mauser, and it will only get worse in the future.

What pressures are we going to expect? There are WWII German rifles that need ammo, but not if it is going to over-pressure something really valuable like a G-43.

From another chat forum, someone quoted this round generating internal pressure of 42,640 psi. The German M34 military round was generating pressure of 55,111 psi.

I am at a loss to figure out this statement....
The ammo is SAAMI spec....
It is approved for import and sale in Canada....
We are not talking about the Turkish surplus junk that keeps popping up, that stuff is dagerous....

PLEASE, a little faith, the benefit of a doubt, when has Marstar EVR offered sub standard or dangerous ammo ??
John

I would definitely buy a case or two, my Mauser is in desperate need of some lovin'.

And yes, I stopped lurking just to answer this thread, I am that desperate for some milsurp ammo :)

John, my worry is that sniper ammo is specified for careful slow single shots, and MIGHT be higher velocity than crate-standard belted 4 ball/1 tracer MG ammo, designed to make the gun function and hit a templated beaten zone. If you are confident that the former Yugoslavs have better QC than the Turks, and are within SAAMI spec' all the better.

i'd love to get some of this lovely ammunition in my hands...please try to bring some in.
p.s. nice to see the arms industry is still ticking in the old country (one of very the very few no doubt)

G-43s have grossly overpowered gas systems and tend to beat themselves up with just about any ammo. An outfit called Apfeltor Waffenfabrik makes what they call the Shooter's Kit to counteract this design flaw. My understanding is that this is pretty much a must if you actually want to shoot your G-43.

between Marstar and Canuck ammo regulations....you can pretty much guarentee this ammo will be groovy sweet stuff

is it here yet?.....I need...ummm....a pallet?
