$700 sks...

Cabela's had a sale on not long ago for ''super grade'' Tula sks's for 250$. The gun counter clerk said the super grades were unfired and never issued. I wonder if that was true?

There has been a couple technicianson the island fancying themselves "SK" pros. It doesn't suprise me. Probably a guy the gets his expertise from YouTube. Buyselltrade isn't bad but lots of the gun stuff is being sold by clueless hopefuls.

Its Cabelas man, they have no idea. They probably just bought some nicer ones and charged more for it.

Collectors will pay more for what they want. I sold my 49's for quite a bit more than $700. I know of a few still in cosmoline new in box SKS d's that sold for around $1200. Some will pay more for what they are into.

Collectors will continue to pay what the more scarce SKS rifles command in the open market, while $200 SKS shooters will scoff at the prices as SKS rifles "are all worth $200". Same old story, doesn't matter if it's CGN or elsewhere on the web.

I believe they are 59/66 by the look of the forward grenade launch sights, but my vision isn't what it was, if so I sold mine for about the same as I paid, around $650 plus shipping! That is a great price if they are!
Just took a look on GB, if I had the cash I would be bidding, that is an awesome find, with documents and all the goodies, mine was as new unissued and I would think if these are sequential that they are too!

We've been over that many times. The super grade sks's are just the old stock Ukraine imports. Same guns Wholesale Sports had been selling as low as 159.99. They are just nice refurbs. I won't go on another rant, but just suggest you avoid Cabelas.

It will always be what the market will bear! If a bunch more come in they will go for what people will pay how many more will sell before the Canadian market is near saturation,, at a certain price! Drop the price and get more buyers, all depends on supply and demand, the dollar may add $25-$30 to the price for sure, but hey the $75 sks will turn into $110 sks, I like the Russian/ European sks more but would like 1 or 2 more Chinese too, only at a reasonable price!

Its an interesting discussion. I actually think the canadian market is saturated. Many of us already have crates of them. How many can we buy? Will the US market ever open up? Will these countries/exporters still be willing to sell an SKS for what amounts to about 50-75 USD? I doubt it.

If the U.S. Opens up, anything is possible for the Chinese guns, I should have bought a crate 2 years ago, when they were in good shape and dirt cheap, can still get a crate of Russian refurb for a bit less than $150 a piece, but they are the newer imports with a slightly worse finish, of course the innards are still good quality! Time will tell, and bottom line, those that bought when they were very cheap, goodonya, and those of us that only have half a dozen or a bit more,, well we wait to see if lightning strikes twice! I would take a crate of new Chinese for somewhere around $175 a copy!

I was at wholesale sports the other day and there was an old Winchester Model 94 sitting on the counter. I asked, "is that rifle chambered in 30-30?" The guy at the counter said, "no, its a .30 WCF". I laughed and walked away. Most of them have no idea what the hell they are talking about.
