Gatehouse-They work for me.I avoid the mauser actions entirely.Instead I have my rifles built on 700 actions.
It's to bad you are so narrow minded your missing out on some great rifles.

How would you know.Yesterday ,you didn't even know what a bolt action was.:D :D

And in reguard to your ignorance,I have owned guns by sako, tikka, winchester, ruger, browning, ithaca, weatherby, smith&wesson, bruno, howa and colt.I have owned lever actions, pump actions, single shots, semi autos and bolt actions. However I now choose to hunt with rifles that are built to my specifications on 700 actions with stocks by mcmillan and barrels by makers such as kreiger,pac-nor,hart,guaillard,schneider and mclennon. The finished products are of higher quality than the mass produced rifles that are available. So no it's not too bad that I choose to hunt with these rifles.

That doesn't make every bolt action repeating rifle a mauser, especially since his first repeater used a tubular magazine which didn't work out well and was dropped.By the time the famous 1998 mauser was invented there were already several bolt action repeating rifles on the market.

If my research is correct, didn't James Paris Lee begin developing his bolt action rifle in 1864? What was Paul Mauser doing then? And wasn't the Lee action the fastest cycling turn bolt action repeating rifle ever devised? I believe the Germans thought they were under machine gun fire.
