A new hunting rifle hits the trail...
I removed the factory fluted barrel, trued the action, installed a Gaillard blank with minimum headspace, bedded the action, floated the barrel, did the trigger to a crisp 2.5 pounds, installed dual dovetail Leupold mounts, lapped the rings and installed a new 3.5 x 10 Leupold Boone & Crockett scope. The stock finish is peeling but nothing to be done there right now.
As intended it made the rifle a bit heavier and it is all in the barrel ... this should be a tack driver...

spend more time on a stairclimber, rowing machine, treadmill or whatever. If an extra 12 oz is cause for concern, then they could always wear lighter boots.
