Hey all!!
Just got myself a 760 pump in 308. Right now it has a 22" barrel, but I plan to have a smith remedy that. It came with a weaver rail, which I remounted an blue-Lock-tighted the screws in place. I found some steel weaver rings, and for now, I have mounted a steel tube weaver K4-1 4x 32 scope I found here on the board. This arrangment clears the rear sight. I bet you can see the repeating theme here (as much steel as I can find LOL!!!). This is to be my rough and tumble carbine, and will transform it as money and time premit.
I called Remington, and from the serial number is was manufactured in the mid 80's.
The front sling swivel is barrel band, and not my favorite option. I was wondering if there are any other alternative.
There is something offered by uncle mikes that replace the fore-end bolt, but those seem to be for 760's mfg Pre-1968.
Further, I am looking for a good synthetic stock set, and a LH saftey. I know williams makes a LH saftey, but have not had much success with them.
Could you please point me in the correct direction.
regards
