7mm-08 popularity

I have owned and shot several rifles chambered in 7-08. Took a few animals with it as well. Very fine chambering, with all the characteristics of its twin, the 7x57. I have no 7-08 at present, but have a 700 "Classic" in 7x57. It will place 3 - 140 Accubonds into a ragged cluster at 100M every time if I do my part. Velocity is 2860. I would gladly tackle anything in North America except big grizzly bears that bite back with this rifle. Joy to shoot, accurate and effective. FWIW, I saw a young [but experienced] hunter take down a cow elk at 400+ yards with the 7-08, using factory 140 Accubond loads. He shot twice, and hit her through the lungs twice. She went about 15 yards and dropped. Regards, Eagleye.

Here's My 7mm-08 and the Moose I took with it last weekend at about 250 yards with a 140gr Barnes TSX
