Hornady recommends 8.5 twist or faster for their 175ELD-X, what is the normal twist rate of a 7mmRem mag?
What distance were these llamas shot at? I understand they can be quiet spooky so somewhere around a kilometre I’m guessing
Bob Beck (Extreme Outer Limits) has also been testing these bullets on game animals in the field. Bob reports:
“We have made 3 kills with the bullets, and they perform extremely well. The animals were llamas, which are normally hard to kill. We took three shots from 10 ft, 500 yards and 1046 yards. All of the bullets expanded and killed immediately. One of the shots was a frontal which flipped the animal over completely!”

Lmao
This might be the funniest thing I’ve read on here
Basically as you described, with a second shot not shown on camera at 650 yards, though they claim after it was already dead.
What a bunch of #######s
It was pretty brutal for sure.
I think that 175 ELD-X at only 2925fps was will under its optimal expansion envelope at 1023 yards, I could be wrong though?
Hornady's calculator says 1623fps @1023 yards
Mostly 9.25 for 7 Rem Mags - RJ
remington sendero in 7mm rem mag with a 1-9.25 twist.
“ I call this baby the llama flipper”
1-9.25 is a Remington phenomenon only.
Tikka & Winchester are 1:9.5 twist for the 7mm Rem Mag rifles. Who is making 1:9 twist 7mm Rem Mag rifles?
I see Browning and Savage as well use 1-9.5 for 7mm Rem Mag
Ruger uses a 1-8.5 in there 7mm rifles
Kimber is 1:9.5 as well…my 280ai stabilizes the 180 ELDM just fine
