It may sound like a challenge but, I'll measure my 12 against yours.
There is no end to the old cliches, “ 16 gauge, kicks like a 12 and hits like a 20”.

I'll donate a prize for this first challenge category: the show's lightest 12 gauge double with minimum 25" barrels.
Winner gets a hand-made shoe protector. The pic is one I made for a buddy who wanted it thicker and with 1/4" bigger radius than the commercial ones, plus a post to keep barrel from sliding.

Thanks , I wanted to get that anyway
Haha. And the smack talk begins! Now what do we get Brybenn for best skeet score?
Think my lightest 12 was 6lbs 3oz as weighed at a sxs classic iirc
You did have to use the word "double"! I was going to slide my 12 gauge, 5 pound J & W Tolley in for the win! Hahaha.
Ah, I was wording it to give your Purdey a chance. Maybe someone will show with a Skimin & Wood for the win.
I'll bring my 16 and maybe we can get a full squad of 16s out there. Mines only a low grade AyA though
Did someone say Purdey? As an advance taste of this year's table, here is a James Purdey first-model thumb-hole action (1863 patent), the first gun to have the Purdey sliding under-bolt locking mechanism (I'm guessing 97% of all the vintage double guns that will be on display by everyone this year are built on this under-bolt design -- and this is the one that started it all).
To see the thumb-hole action in action, see the YouTube video 9.3mauser posted in the "cased pairs" thread.

I think I may have you beat. Im pretty sure one of my 12g sxs’s is a hair over 6lbs.
The only 16 I got have an extra " hole ' for a 9.3
Cut the barrels, remove the internals, hollow out the stock, etc.I own a saw. I think I could lose 3ozs lol

Don't be silly , just put a bird head grip on it and saw off the extra inches from the barrel.
