Remington 700 in 7X57
I agree with the other gentlemen that suggest a 7-08 would be a better choice of round.
The ammo manufacturers don't load the 7X57 to its potential, because there are so many firearms around that are 100 years old or more. Reason being it may be a liability thing. If you go to 7-08 you can get excellent factory loads, and as another member stated a wider variety of projectiles.
I took a Remington 700 BDL in 6mm and rebarreled it to 7-08, with a new 22" stainless Remington Mountain Rifle barrel. It gives me a light rifle that is about a 1/2 lb heavier then a Remington No7 rifle.
I have another new Remington medium weight 24" stainless barrel on my shelf waiting for a new project.
Is anyone looking for a used Remington 30-06 med, 222 med, 22-250 bull, Ruger 10/22, or a new Tikka 270 stinless barrel?
I seem to have a selection on my shelf that I don't have any need of.
