8.5" Grizzly Mag eta? Ready to Order!!!

Picked up mine today, off to the range this weekend.

Decided to go with the old school look for now.

Vest is also a retro piece of kit. S.A.S.S vest designed for Brit SLR mags, holds 12 Griz mags perfectly.

Does anyone know if you can get a front pistol grip for the pump on this? I fired 300 or so shells in a few hours and I'm missing bits of skin from a few fingers of the pump hand just from friction against the small pump grip. I think it would be much better and easier to manipulate with a front pistol grip.

Thanks Can-Am! Great stuff, I love the gun.

The muzzle flash is so bright with magnum buckshot and slugs that at one point I was getting white spots in my eyes, had to get some sunglasses.

Mine came in while I was home, a minor miracle. Took it out to the range and fired it out. Had a complete failure of one magazine, barely fit in 5 rounds, almost impossible to load on closed bolt and the follower would bind up on subsequent rounds. I will give canadaammo a call tomorrow about possible fixes. The other mag worked fine.

I've had a magazine issue as well. If the spring is in the wrong way, it'll kink and bind up. If the body of the mag is too small for the follower, it'll bind up. I sanded the inside of the body a little and bent it outwards just a few hairs' thickness and that solved all my problems. Just take it apart and check it out, they really do work after some minor fiddling.

are the trigger gaurds metal on these?

Yes, the trigger guard and even all the trigger bits are metal. I was pretty happy to see that.

X2!! Been looking for any railed forearm that would fit. Tried a small ERGO one that didn't work. Looks like it might have to be custom?

This is true, however you have 30 days to update the CFC about any change, or alteration in status.
Theoretically, this means if you take the pistol grip off, and put back the original stock, the calendar is reset.
While this is not intended as legal advice, I would keep the long stock very handy.
As long as you just fondle it in your house, you should be fine. Take it to the range, or bush without a restricted certificate = not fine.

Also beware, you may have yourself a permanent restricted once registered as such. Not sure how easy that would be to reverse. At the very least it would involve a trip to a verifier. Funny how they will just take your word that you made it too short, but not longer than 26".

Interesting, I never noticed until now that the 8.5" mag fed forend is shorter from the 8.5" tube fed. This could bring up some complications for flashlight mounting...also looks like it leaves your support hand ~1" closer to the muzzle.

I have both models. and noticed its easy to get your thumb infront of the muzzle on the 8.5 tube and on the 8.5 mag its even easier!! don't blow your thumbs off guys!

Thanks for the reminder, I'm going tomorrow to test out this 8.5 puppy, and check all the mags out to see they all work good.

I'll second the "wear gloves" part after those three hundred shells or so.

I was missing some skin more from my fingers rubbing the small pump grip, it's why I want a pistol grip at the front.
