... Its maybe a millimeter of wiggle left to right looks to be just the way it was built, but for under $400 I dont expect perfection...
I don't think expecting to get a properly working new gun is asking for perfection. Mine is a 3.5" version with plastic trigger guard. It is over 5 years old, has a few rounds through it and the trigger guard has no play at all.
I'd say, bring it back and have them correct the problem. I don't care how cheap you paid for it, it is still supposed to be assembled and work properly.
