870 express vs stoeger 350

I've tried the Stoeger P-350, and I like it. It's not heavy at all, didn't kick much (though that was probably the light-load shells) and is generally a nice value for the price range. They come with five chokes and a choke wrench, it eats 2 3/4, 3 and 3 1/2 inch shells, can fire lead or steel shot and rifled slugs. They only come in black and camo though.

If you like a little bit of wood finish on your gun, the 870 Express might be a better bet, but I don't think it's as good a value as the Stoeger. I've heard lots of folks say if you're going to get an 870, get the Wingmaster and skip the Express. *shrug*

Your best bet is to handle both in a store and see which feels better to you. See if you can find folks with either/or who'll let you shoot 'em.

What's everyones hangup with the express?
I got one and it's not too bad kicks like a whore with a sore crotch when useing 3 1/2 shells but tame with 3"

which one is the better gun? why? does the recoil reduction system work well in the 350?

thanks

depends what you want it for. There's way more accessories for an 870, mounts, rifled barrels, stocks, chokes, saddles, blah, blah, blah.

Stoeger acces. might be hard to find, if even available...

go with the best selling shotgun ever made..lol
I have a Wingmaster thats older than I am and works flawlessly and a new Express Turkey that came with a fully rifled cantilever.

I got the express no jams yet after 300-350 rounds of 3 1/2" steel. Only thing I don't like is the recoil pad it's really stiff.

The factory recoil pad on wood stocks are like pucks! I recommend getting an aftermarket, like a Limbsaver. The advantage of the synthetic stock is it comes with an R3 recoil pad. Made a big difference for me.

My patner hunts with a Stoeger 350 'cause he was sick of his Beretta getting rusty in the salt marsh. The camo finish is pretty cool.

He's nailed lots of ducks and several geese with it, but I have seen it jam on him once and he has it for sale.

Anyone know the difference between a Stoeger P-350 and Benelli Nova? From what I can find out is; the P-350 is based on the Nova. Else they look the same. Anyone handle both?

1) Price: $135 less than the Nova.

2) the Nova is almost completely synthetic from end to end (except for the barrel and internal parts). The P-350 has a synthetic stock and forend but the receiver is all metal.

3) the Nova is kinda beefier and the P-350 slim.

4) the P-350s I've handled do not cycle as smoothly as a Nova (the Nova basically glides when you cycle it, not the case with most shotguns nor the P-350).

That being said, when they start selling the P-350 version with a deer barrel I will buy one as it probably cost just as much as a Nova deer barrel only.

Let us know how it performs if you do decide to buy one.

The P-350 is fully gauranteed, less expensive and comes with five choke tubes. They will certainly make a slug barrel for them in the very near future. You want good value or do you want to buy a name.

Have both and I like the P350 a bit better. The pump gets smoother on the Stoeger.Give it a try you might like it.Price is right.
