that's a nice shotgun you gort there, but isen't it illegal to change the size of the stock, the canadian laws says that under 33" it become restricted or prohibited, and with the pistol grip yours is about 22" well 9 that was the voice of the lawfull part of myself)

well, prety nice weapon tho, hows the shooting with it, and what ate the majors differences with a remington? better conception?, lighter? i was intrested in buying one to add to my collection of 3 rem 870, well feel free to leave your feedback

please don't speak if you have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

thanks

EDIT: how do you like that folding forgrip?

does it lock down or will if fold when you pump it?

Man that is an awesome gun.
I really want a grizzly but I already have an HP-9 so I cant justify the cost heres my HP-9. Hope nobody gets to pissed about me posting one of these in here I mean it is a Norinco too. Just a different barrel length.

I've always questioned the use of a laser on a shotgun.
I mean even at night with the tac-light on I can see my bead or sights clear as day.

I think you need a light dude.

I thought pistol grip on a 12.5" barrel put them under size as well?

What is the overall length with the pistol grip? I haven't had an 870 in a couple years so I'm out of the loop.

according to the law ANY oal is legal as long as the barrel isn't less than 106mm
That's news to me and open to interpretation, unless I missed something. Is there is a relevant thread some one could point me too?

Definition of restricted firearm:

(a) a handgun that is not a prohibited firearm,

(b) a firearm that

(i) is not a prohibited firearm,

(ii) has a barrel less than 470 mm in length, and

(iii) is capable of discharging centre-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner,

(c) a firearm that is designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise, or

(d) a firearm of any other kind that is prescribed to be a restricted firearm;

The logic behind this is the "30 days to notify CFC" of the change from non-res to res. Put the butt back on every 29 days and you should be legal.
Personally, I would not be testing the law in this way.....but whatever floats your boat.

If you assemble factory parts into a configuration that is shorter than 66 cm (a hair under 26in) presently you are okay as long as you or someone else has not shortened them( they can't be cut), they have to be made the size they are by a factory(company that makes parts),and it seems it can be an aftermarket company. Making shorter by folding or telescoping is not okay because the rules say so..

dear god, this OAL and barrel length thing has been gone over a bajillion times, im not saying its a bad thing. just funny. i asked that question long ago before this site. this site enlightens you to so much.... :)

Cheers

Rob

Ok, I see where they are getting this. I really hope a lot of you guys on here have good lawyers, you're treading in murky waters.

Let me reiterate, a restricted firearm is:
(c) a firearm that is designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise

Take it for what it's worth, unless something changed since I last read the law. Sorry for hijacking this thread, I'm just very concerned by this seemingly misinformation.
