Mossberg 590a1 20" 9-shot $500
In good shape, not many rounds thru it. Rarely use it so off it goes to a new home.

Tri-rail version with XS ghostring and speed feed stock. Couple small scuffs on receiver, and a scratch near the take down pin courtesy of the Mossberg factory shown in pics. Pics are on Google drive at the link.

$500, plus expedited shipping with $100 insurance

I also have 9 25rd boxes of Federal XM 127 00 buckshot I'll let go for $100 for local sale

Buy this now before I do

I was going to warn you, but they got to ya first, we have some sensitivity issues over what you call a shotgun, I got burned a couple days ago, your turn!!!:) I shudder to think what would happen if we used the term scattergun! Like me, you will now have to take two weeks of sensitivity training at the Justin Trudeau school for the terminally putridly dramatic! That'll fix ya!

A classic wingmaster will serve you well. Avoid anything modern remington. Especially the express. The mossberg is scratchy and not the slickest action. But it's very robust and reliable.

I can't find one at all and the money isn't what i'm asking about
The 590A1 are around $900-1100 from what I've seen but theyre OOS everywhere but thanks for your helpful commet
Local CTC has a couple 590A-1 in stock one if he still has it was decked out pretty good with knife and all, and a mariner coated one! I can check if you are still looking! Prices $600-$800!

Trenchgun is one I like using around a friend, he’s more of a liberal deep down but he likes guns more than most liberals. He’s got a nice old Ithaca M37 deer slayer that will slam fire, he bought it for killing livestock and shooting feral cats.

Over dinner one night we were talking about it and he wondered why it was made to slam fire, I chuckled and said “Well, it is a trenchgun after all. Slam fire isn’t for shooting deer, it’s for clearing trenches of enemy soldiers.” You should’ve seen the look on his face, I said “yeah man it’s one of the original combat shotguns.” I bet “assault shotgun” was the first thing that popped into his head, I can’t wait to shoot it. I’m going to slam fire it at a cardboard ipsc target and watch him crap himself lol.

Hahahaha so many of you triggered
Who cares what I call it
Thanks for the factual replies

Well I guess I'll pack up and go home because of your mean comment

Well actually you should pack up and move to the proper forum! You’re in the Hunting & Sporting Shotguns forum, your query belongs in the Black & Green Shotguns forum based on your looking for a tactical shotgun. But then judging by your responses you are smart enough to know that....

Haha, we need pics of his expression!! Trenchgun! That's a good one for sure, I will have to use it!

Maybe just maybe I could care less about your sentiment

Now who's "triggered"? :)

Either shotgun will make a fine "Shotty" but your price estimate on the 590A1 seems a bit high..... they tend to sell for around $500 in "minty" condition on the E.E.

Edit, looks like I should have finished reading the thread before posting...... :)

Lot's of good reply's.

Hahaha I've already signed up for rehabilitation training after my fit of insensitive name calling

Pre-2005 is the way to go with 870's. That was when they were bought by Freedom Group.

All the same, I personally prefer my 590A1 between it and an equivalent 870. Dual extractor, no feed gate, and a single 8-round magazine, just off the top of my head.

What area do you live in that your ctc actually has mossberg products?
Halifax , our bayers lake CTC has a great shooting sports section and the section manager( Justin) is quite knowledgeable. The owner is pro gun, they have a better selection than the Bass Pro that just opened and most of the time, better prices, will also try hard to beat others prices. They are making up their first order for 2019 now and bringing in lots of cool guns!

I have an 870 express but upgraded a few parts and bought a couple different barrels for it. It's my beater shotgun and gets used and abused. It's been a reliable shotgun, not the prettiest or smoothest, but I like it and trust my life to it. It's easy to find parts for too. Something to consider.

I've got a couple of option to decide on and just need a push in a direction

Remington Model 870 Express Tactical Magpul CAL 12 3 Pump Action Shotgun $540

Remington® 870™ Express® Tactical 3'' 12-Gauge Pump Shotgun w/ Ghost Ring Sights $580

The second one I'd upgrade to Magpul furniture

Either one I'd do a few upgrades to safety etc

Which is a better deal?

OR do I hunt for a 590A1?

Thanks

I have a few recommendations regarding your choices of shotty. First off, if you intend to run a pistol grip, go with the remmy, it's safety is conducive to such. Should you decide to cleave to a conventional stock, run the mossy, being ambidextrous and all.

So let's see...

SHOTTY
REMMY
MOSSY

Time for a snowflake count...

Hope this helps...
