I just recieved an 870 wingmaster magnum and am in the process of installing a new DLASK 12.5in barrel. Now, it will look good when it is done however, there is some sort of problem.
When I put the barrel all the way in and lock in the bolt on the end of the mag tube, I can rack the forearm to the action-open position. However, at that point, the action seems to jam, not allowing me to rack the action closed. To rack the action closed, I must first remove the barrel completely before getting the forearm to the action closed position. WEll, actually, I can close the action but it requires a huge amount of force and I know that such force should not be necessary.
Now, I have not stripped the action down yet (it is used so I have to check if the owner disassembled before shipping and perhaps a part was not put where it should be) but a cursory glance tells me that all is where it should be.
Any ideas what the problem might be ?
EDIT: I just installed a factory 20in barrel to the gun and it works fine so there must be some issue with the DLASK 12.5in barrel mating to this Wingmaster Deer action.... still not sure what the problem is
EDIT: would it be possible that the forearm is rubbing and getting jammed on the DLASK barrel ?
EDIT: It seems as though it is the wood forearm that is rubbing and getting jammed agaisnt the barrel
Either I start sanding or buy a new Hogue stock set or something.... DAMMIT
