I can't say I have shot one but I did have one pre-ordered, however when it finally came in I was not impressed and backed out of the deal. To me the balance was way off probably due to the armour coated barrel and the rather cheap (IMHO) plastic stock. I am more of a point and pull kinda of guy and not up on the mechanics of guns but I wasn't impressed by the rust on the action bars and magazine tubes. This might have been caused by a packaging oversight but I didn't think it boded well for a gun whos claim to fame was durability and corrosion resistance. The action was certainly not of the same manufacturing standards of the Wingmaster and probably not at the Express marginal quality level either.
Price is certainly right at ($400 black matte $510 Max4) but given Remingtons trouble with the Cti and 770 rifle I decided not to take the chance. I personally would pay a bit more for a better finished piece.

I ordered one for a friend who is not internet savvy to use for duck hunting. When it came to my place I opened it to check it out. To me it felt, well, cheap. The transfer bars on the pump are super loose, not just a little bit but floppy, so when you re-assemble you have to hold the bolt assembly in place or they spread apart and it falls between them. The bolt also has this wonky sheild over it supposedly designed to keep out debris or moisture but instead seems unnecessary and it falls off easily. The stock does seem cheap, and for all the hype on Remington's "soft-cell" or whatever technology reducing 54% of recoil or whatever--it just feels like nerf. The sights look good with forward green FO and a mid hi-vis red bead. In the end, my friend said it was very light to carry around all day, didn't kick too bad, had no feed problems, and he said that the sights were user friendly--he was pleased. By no means is my friend an expert, though he has shot a lot with me. I think in the end you get what you pay for....$400 worth of shotgun for $400.

well thats not good to hear ,anything that feels worse then the express, is not a good thing.

From what I understand, it was supposed to be in line to compete with the Benelli Nova. I personally don't think it's up to it. IMO anyways. With all the emphasis on rust prevention, you'd think it was being marketed for careless, forgetful people. Stays rust free even if you forget to maintain it...and cheap to replace when you do.
I'm pretty sure all the mossy are made "with pride in the USA". Lets be real, Americans can't make stuff that even they want.

The Benelli M4 says Made in the USA but we all know its not.
Its called 922r, aka just enough parts made in the USA to call it made the USA.
The company that owns remington allso imports the 870 knock off from taiwan and markets it in the US.
I,m sure all the parts on the remington 870 express are made in the US.......
If does no matter where somthing is made just how well its made.

No, I'm saying most major manufacturers in general are able to provide people with products that they want when you factor in competitive price, acceptable quality and quantity that people demand. May it be cars, guns or electronics. If it domestically made, it's either junk or real expensive.

my take on "Cheapo" shotguns what it is worth is that it all goes back to WalMart marketing. we have got to the point where price is paramount to all other factures, quality be damned, give me a low price at any cost. you go shopping and see a pump gun for 300 bucks and another pump gun for $600 the first thing we do is complain about how the one gun is so much more expensive, well generally there is a good reason for the differance. look at the differances in quality materials and workmanship between an Express and a true Wingsmaster. somewhere along the line we let companiies sell cheaply made goods just because they price them rock bottom, "Oh well, I only paid $X for the thing so I am not out much"
