Basically the same action, supposed to be somewhat improved. Different metallurgy from the M96.

The M46 was made from 1928 to the mid 1930s and actually used Carl Gustav actions because Husqvarna did not make M96/94 actions at that time. The M46A came about when Husqvarna started making the M38 miltary action in the late 1930s (or early 40s?) and began using it in their civilian rifles as well.

The 46A has a schnabel fore end on the stock, the 46 does not. The 46 has a more graceful barrel contour, the 46A has a more military looking step-down in barrel diameter just forward of the action.

And yes, I do like the cartridge very much.

Took My Husky girl to the range for the first time yesterday! What a pleasure to shoot low recoil & her accuracy for a rifle built in 1943 is spectacular!
Im really impressed.
The gentleman who sold her to me, supplied me with ten loaded rounds.
First I shot her at 100 yards & she did not print on paper!
So I put this target up at 50 yards the 3 shot group speaks for itself!
A few minor adjustments & she was bang on!

The only Info I have on the load is
9.3X57
Barns 250gr
51gr reloader 15

Im using H-335 (46 grains) Fed 210 and WW 8x57 brass necked up for a factory duplication load of 2070 fps with the 286 grain privi partisan.

I shot two deer with it this year and it works just fine, neither took a single step and you can eat right up to the hole
