Ted Wagner is the gentleman pictured in the canoe and also quite an advocate of the 'parent calibre', the 9.3x62. I can't recall off hand who was the front runner in advocating the calibre change to the 366 Wagner but that change continues to gain popularity.
That pic looks like something out of National Geographic.
After seeing that photograph, I see now how it's fitting. Brings some bearing to the name.
I feel inadequate for that cartridge, because I am in no way a mountain man... yet.
