9.3x62

Pretty much the same recoil with an equally heavy rifle. But 9.5 is fairly hefty, and probably most 9.3 scoped up will probably come in a bit lighter.
Not far off:

Cartridge (Wb@MV)Rifle WeightRecoil energyRecoil velocity
.300 Wby. Mag. (180 at 3240)9.031.615.0
9.3x62 (286 at 2360)9.028.014.1

I doubt I'd be able to really tell a difference there. My crappy old Zastava 9.3 had a crappy recoil pad, my current Mark V in .300 Wby Mag has a nice squishy one. That's probably enough to make up for the difference alone.

Take that 9.3 load up 100 fps, and the weight down a 1/2 lb for some extra punch!
2450 fps/8.5 lb/ recoil energy 37/ recoil velocity 16.74

Take the same 2450 fps load and stuff it in a redneck express 7.5 lb rifle, and you get more cowbell.

2450 fps/7.5 lb/ recoil energy 42/ recoil velocity 19
