I've put plenty of Blazer Aluminium through the CX4, no issues whatsoever. TD and JR are just covering their posteriors in case something breaks while under warranty so they have an escape clause.
 
I think the real beauty of a 9mm carbine comes into play when you have a carbine/pistol mag match. Were you interested in this? It might help to steer your decision.

I was in the same shoes as you at the time. I also heard bad things about the jr's, but I decided to buy one and never looked back. Mine is in 9mm and works flawlessly. Id say its the most accurate 9mm carbine out there.

I've shot 1000 reloads through my JR.
 
Since others have brought up the .45acp carbines.

Has anybody used or have thoughts on the .45acp Beretta CX4 Storm carbines? I think one of them in .45 acp would make a excellent short range carbine.

I know they are no longer made as they were not selling enough compared to the 9mm and .40 versions to warrant Beretta's continued production, but I have seen restricted and non restricted versions available in the past on the EE and seldom now see them for sale anymore so they must be liked a lot by their owners.
 
The tnw aero is multi caliber. 9mm, .45 ACP, .40 ,10mm and .357SIG.You can buy the kits from them. So buy the 9mm for now and change it out later. TNW's website says a .22 lr conversion is also coming soon.
 
I picked up a JR because I like it can be moded with AR parts to look custom. I have shot about 400 rnds of wolf ammo through it, no failures of any kind.

I have shot the CX4 and wasnt a fan of it. Also, when my friend tried to put a scope on it, Im pretty sure he needed to use either medium or high rings to get over the rear sight. Also the length of scope can be an issue due to the sights.
 
I have had the JR Carbine and the Thureon Defense. I still own the Thureon as it was better built and more reliable. The Beretta is definitely one of the best options reliability wise as well.
