If you shoot A's, there is no difference. Plus the lighter loads will make it easier to shoot. You could always shoot 9mm minor in Open for a year, learn to shoot your A's fast and accurately, and then rechamber for 38 super or 9x21 at a later date if you decide you're losing ground due to your C or D count.
I always thought I might try getting a 9mm minor gun for my gf if she showed an interest in IPSC and wanted to shoot Open.
