9mm Questions

I found 5lbs of Titegroup locally and shot my very first 9mm handloads today!
Quite thrilled that they all worked and the gun didn't blow up!

I used 125gr Hornady HAPs, (because that's about all I could find) in front of 4gr to 4.4grs. in .1gr increments.

4grs and 4.2grs appeared to be the most accurate with 4.4 too hot. Had a primer pop and some looked stressed.
I'm going to attribute that too hot load to the carbine length barrel on the JRC.
 
Generally good advice here. Frankly, since you're likely not using the ammo for self defence, hollow points are a waste of money and often cause feeding problems in some guns. Any round nose bullet in the 115-135 gr. range should suit your purposes well. I cast my own (Lee 124 gr. RN) and have been very satisfied with the feeding and accuracy out of my Kimber Stainless II Target 9mm 1911.
 
I shoot mostly 124LRN. Although, with a G17, I also shoot plated. Once I finish my current stock of lead projectiles, I will stick with plated as the cost is the same (at least in my neck of the woods). Powder wise, I used a lot of Bullseye over the years because it lasts a long time. I have also tried Unique, and lately have been using Power Pistol. I have tried a sample batch with Longshot and found it to be very soft shooting. I tried Titegroup with a Smith 659 a few years ago, and it didn't cycle the action...mind you it was a lighter load and it may not have had the oomph to cycle the heavy slide.
