Out of the Box
The gun is well packaged, the rails fit really well. The butt stock is a commercial tube and a low quality feeling Pheonix Technologies stock. While it works, I fortunately had some Magpul bling to put on it. For the cash it should have better furniture and it should come with a set of sights. I added my set of leftovers from another project and then added my Aimpoint Comp ML2 which lines up with an absolute co-witness with the sights. Overall the finish is excellent on this gun and other than a crappy butt stock it is nice. It takes down easily and was a breeze to give a good cleaning/inspection before hitting the range.

The Range
On last minute notice was able to hit the range this weekend, I dragged out some Sh-tty MFS 115 grain to use as there is still lots of snow. I was able to sight it in really quickly and here is what I noticed. The trigger is 2 stage and has a little creep at first and it has a slightly mushy feel to the break. It was good and was probably in the 5 – 6 pound range. I was happy with it and the nice thing is that it can be changed with a standard AR trigger if wanted.
Recoil is negligible, just a slight lift but really easy to keep on target and it is well balanced allowing for quick follow up shots. All of the controls are great but it doesn’t have a last round hold open. I don’t like that, but it doesn’t take away from the gun for me. Mag changes were quick and the mag well is bevelled allowing easy no fumble changes. The bolt hold open works well and changes with a full 10 round mag on a closed bolt were easy to accomplish.
Firing 250 rounds I did have 2 FTF. They were both light primer strikes, and both rounds fired when chambered again. I have had issues with this MFS ammo before in my CZ pistol doing the same thing. Other than that I had no other stoppages, with the blowback design this got dirty really quickly and if a day of 1000 rounds plus of MFS ammo is planned some cleaning and lubing will be required at lunch! I could notice a slight gritty feeling when cocking the gun after about 200 rounds. I will need to try some cleaner ammo next time.
Results at 50m were pretty good. The first 2 targets are 10 round groups, the 3rd is 20. The first target was my Irons, the front post is actually wider than the target paper at this range so it was a little tricky to line it all up. The height of the BUS was great on the receiver and very comfortable to use. The second target was my Aimpoint and it shows that my old eyes don’t like irons anymore. Both of these targets were shot at a slow rate, half arse rested on a bench in the snow. The third target was shot from the standing at a relatively quick rate (subjective) with a quick reload in between.

Overall I have to say it is a keeper, it worked well and is comfortable and fun as hell to shoot. I am going to need to invest in some more mags and a few of those KCI mags to make it happy. I will post some results with Some glass on it at 100m with some good ammo at a later date, but really I think it would be perfect for minute of bad guy in a dark hall at night.
