9mm VS REVOLVER.357MAGNUM

Still not even close and I don't care if you measure it in Celius. I can load my .357 magnum down to darn near a .22LR but that doesn't make a .22LR as powerful as a .357 MAg.

Yup, close but no cigars counts in horsehoes and hand grenades only. I think you might check on what constitutes a "normal" .357 Mag load. Obviously the lowest commercially loaded .357 mag load (.38 Spl territory) is going to get closer to the hottest 9MM load but that is not how one would normaly assess or compare relative power in cartridges IMHO. I would suggest the 9MM is significantly less powerfull than the .357 mag by any fair measure. You might want to chrono some of the +P ammo and see how close they are running to advertised velocities.

What are you really asking, city hunter? Or what are you planning, there is not much game to hunt in the city and we certainly don't live in a war zone (even in :Wally"). I see bullet proof vests on sale in the equipment exchange all the time. Not illegal but for what purpose would you want one? I would personally like to see moderators stop these sales...

I have a vest(2 actually and hard plates on the way) for the reason it was designed for. To stop bullets from entering my body. By your logic no one should ever need a ski mask or gloves either. Time to grow up and stop being so paranoid. Those with ill intentions will always be the ones who use the good will of others to tarnish the image of everyday items. By "restricting or prohibiting" these items from the masses we only victimize ourselves. Seeing as how BA is a PASSIVE device and not an ACTIVE device, I see no harm in ownership. Perhaps someone might want to shoot one for testing purposes. Maybe as a movie prop. Maybe someone wants one for protection from possible gang shootings. I can see how stopping the ownership of a personal defence measure is a priority over gang violence. Then again, there's probably a lot of stuff in the hands of citizens that would blow your mind. Either way there are far more important things to worry about.

The 9mm will never meet or beat the 357. The case capacity alone should be all the evidence you need to make an educated guess. Not to mention the difference in the names, 9mm Luger, Para, Nato(9x19mm) Vs .357 MAGNUM.

If they were not so expensive I'd have a Vest Also. And a Range is a perfect place to wear one. Hell, I'd wear it all the time if it was in the form of a pocketed vest.

Nothing wrong with a vest in the hands of a law abiding citizen. And anyone that thinks there's a problem with it, should take a step back and think about what anti's always say about guns.
