Ragtop is an ohkay werd tuh yewse now a days?......................![]()
Lol Know how you feel. I am a southerner, but it aint always warm here. I grew up and worked in northern Manitoba. It was cold up there, best part was hardly any wind. The last winter I was there was -45to -50 for lows and -35 for highs. Now down south it may be a bit warmer, but it never stops blowing.Nope, made up some test loads but the weather took a dump into the minuses and a wind picked up, now we have snow. It's picking up though so maybe around Christmas or even before........we'll have to see. I think as soon as Christmas is past I'll start working on my heated shooting/chronographing house and then I won't be so subject to the weather. I'm getting to be a real pussy......as long as it was above -30 and no wind I'd go to the range in Whitehorse. Now if it drops below zero I don't want to go 100 mtrs to my bench and shoot, even though the house is only 100 mtrs away to warm up if I want......JJJJEEEEEZZZZZEEEE. I really am becoming a southerner.........I remember shooting Arctic Winter Games in -40, God what is happening to me...........
Bday's not till the 22 there Looky, so you're not late at all, in fact you're a week early and thanks for the thought...........and the yellow 55 doesn't use keys, but you have to find the security switch......good luck !!!!
Ah well, happy b-day to us. I've been following this thread with interest as I was the Penguin thread. That one still has me intrigued... I have a Voere in 6.5x55, do you think it could take the pressures? I can not shoot the Hornady or Nosler 6.5 premium ammunition in it as it is too hot for it.
G_W........First, do you reload........because the Penguin will never be available in a store. It is a wildcat and means you have to form your cases and load your own ammo.
Both Nosler and Hornady adhere to SAAMI pressures and specifications, meaning that if your rifle will not safely fire their ammunition, then you really should get your rifle looked at by a qualified person. The problem lies NOT with the ammunition.......If, as I suspect this is, a custom barrel and chamber then it is not likely cut to SAAMI specs and I could see where you may end up with problems. Any Voere bolt action I have seen has been of very high quality and depending on it's vintage should easily handle the pressures of the Penguin. BUT...the pressure of any cartridge when handloaded is dependent exclusively upon the loader, so it is impossible to say.
Maybe not in Surrey.![]()
Not sure why my abbreviation for revolutions per second was "bleeped", is there some other meaning for ### that I am not aware of?
It just did it again with the lower case acronym as well..............
So what are you saying there bb.........you want me to fetch you all the green skulls over......?
Tradex just listed a nice Krico in 5.6x57.... wonder what kind of velocity that would produce? Case capacity might be a hair under the Baboon lol.

5/8" x 24 is as big as they normally go but with your abilities and "get 'er done attitude" an 1" to 5/8" adapter shouldn't be an issue.DB.........I doubt they make a suppressor to thread onto a 1" muzzle..............
They got Baboons in Whitehorse ?
