I've had 4 or 5 of these over the years when they were worth $150 - what happened?

I started buying them back in 79 when they were $69.00 each, and nobody wanted them because of the calibre. The ammo was hard to get, and expensive.

Brass was hurled with great enthusiasm - and usually mangled up the rim. Not to mention the puff of gas in the face, and watch your fingers around the action!

Never had that problem - they have a spring loaded firing pin.

Me neither, not 1 slam fire.

I remember buying tham at Le baron's for $89 in the 80's and they had Norma Match ammo that was berdan primed that was fairly cheap from what I remember.

And yet another gun post $2200 Ljungman - are people smoking crack?

He's on the pipe and blaming trolls lol

p.s., Have had messages from trolls trying to diminish the value of my gun. Please be an adult folks. I’m not an expert on the history of this gun, and if you are, don’t try to put me in my place.
The price is the price. If you don’t agree with it, that’s your prerogative. Don’t message me and try to make me feel bad about the price. If you can’t afford it, don’t message.
I think someone must have hit these trolls in the head or something. Lol

I've owned a number of these over the years . I don't think I paid more than $ 300 for one and that was about 4 years ago . I actually gave it away to a buddy of mine . They're interesting rifles and people will pay what they pay , not sweat off my back . As Eaglelord17 pointed out , the AG42's would occasionally suffer from out of battery detonation . I know of two cases over the last 20 years just at my gun club , they don't like soft primers . I never worried about it , I just used appropriate primers . That being said , a $2000 asking price may sit for a while . I picked up a Rashid for considerably less than that , which , by the way , is far cooler than a AG42 lol .
