Hi all,

I thought you guys might be interested in this:

Today, I acquired a neat old Krico .22LR at a gun show.
I'd been wanting a good quality, single shot bolt action .22 for a while, and the workmanship on this one caught my eye, despite the rust on part of the bolt, and the stiff action.

The bore was very good, so I snagged it. Its a full size rifle as well, which I really liked. It cleaned up really well, and the bolt now is smooooth.

Anyway, the long and the short of it is, there is not much about Krico out there in internet land, but I found an email for the company.

I sent an email off, and FIVE HOURS after I sent it, I recieved a response from the current president/owner of the company in Germany. Apparently, its one of the first rifles they made, in the low 200's for serial number and shipped on the 21st of October, 1952! Its the rifle that eventually evolved into their model 100. It has a "butterknife" style bolt handle :) The machine work on the bolt puts anything I've seen lately to shame.

I was astounded at how courteous and prompt Mr. Arndt G. Kriegeskorte was in his response to a random Canadian...after sixty years!

A real class act!

I can't wait to shoot her tomorrow ;)

Krico is great on customer service. I just wish parts were more readily available. I have a model 300 that I need magazine for.

Wow, beautiful wood in that! What year is it, Tazzy?

I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open for more Kricos. They seem to be nearly unknown over here, and from what little I've seen and read, they are pretty damned nice rifles.

How does it shoot?

Mine is a '79.

I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

I hope to get a chance to put it to the test within the month.

Krico also made full stock versions.

In the mid 1970s I bought a used Krico for a young son, in 243 calibre. It has a clip magazine and has served flawlessly. It is certaily a quality rifle.
Recently my son contacted the factory also, and they promptly replied, giving the date of manufacture.
