Hi all,
I thought you guys might be interested in this:
Today, I acquired a neat old Krico .22LR at a gun show.
I'd been wanting a good quality, single shot bolt action .22 for a while, and the workmanship on this one caught my eye, despite the rust on part of the bolt, and the stiff action.
The bore was very good, so I snagged it. Its a full size rifle as well, which I really liked. It cleaned up really well, and the bolt now is smooooth.
Anyway, the long and the short of it is, there is not much about Krico out there in internet land, but I found an email for the company.
I sent an email off, and FIVE HOURS after I sent it, I recieved a response from the current president/owner of the company in Germany. Apparently, its one of the first rifles they made, in the low 200's for serial number and shipped on the 21st of October, 1952! Its the rifle that eventually evolved into their model 100. It has a "butterknife" style bolt handle
The machine work on the bolt puts anything I've seen lately to shame.
I was astounded at how courteous and prompt Mr. Arndt G. Kriegeskorte was in his response to a random Canadian...after sixty years!
A real class act!
I can't wait to shoot her tomorrow
