So I picked up early this week a mint condition 1978 Citori grade 1 hunting O/U.
Wood and bluing are inpecable. Bore shines like a mirror. Extremely tight lockup.
I took it out clay shooting with a couple of buddies today and I have to say that this gun rocks. Shoulders and shoots so well and smooth. Now I understand why these command the price they usually do.
I've been shooting clays with a Remington 1100 and a cooey 84 for a while and they have been great learning guns. But the citori is in a league of its own.
The recoil is very well manageable. The feel in hand is incredible. And the action is so crisp. I'm just blown away.
The OU has MOD an de FULL fixed chokes. So it's great for my use and for when I want to impress the guys and go for double clays. Lol
I've been waiting for a long time to find a clean citori that will not leave a crater size hole in my Pocket. I've been patient, regularly checking the EE and a couple of online sites for the right deal. And this week me being patient paid off. I got the gun for what some might say I stole it. Haha. I can't believe my luck on that one.
Morale of the story is be patient and maybe, just maybe you'll hit the jackpot too.
On my first day shooting in, i averaged 9/10.
