A good non-restricted AR style rifle.

regarding SU16.

Call it flimsy, call it plasticky or feeling like a toy, call it whatever, but one thing nobody has ever said is that it "patterns like a shotgun"

Every single review, owner, etc, have said that its surprisingly accurate, and i can attest to that.

250 yards, 10x10 plate, zero issues ringing it every single shot.

I've also had a Mini 14 in a Sparta stock. Heavy doesnt begin to describe that tank. The Su16 is easily close to half the weight

Here's mine.

Pistol grip adapter, Nikon P-223 3x scope and custom fitted Magpul MOE AR-15 carbine handguard.

good luck finding a new su16. I gave up and ordered a XCR L. best bet is to look in the EE.

Nice looking rifle. May be that cr5 was confused and was using a shotgun when he made those patterns LOL.I have zero issues with mine,no failures of any kind , mag dump after mag dump.

You realize of course that a 10 inch plate at 250 yards works out as a 4 moa gun.
That's hardly useful as a varmint rifle, except at short ranges.
I've tried every nr black rifle, the rebarreled acr wins, hands down. Nothing else is close.
If you want a cheaper nr 223, I'd recommend the t97 over the su 16. It's more compact, same or better accuracy, and better built.
Of all the nr black rifles I've owned, the mini 14 and su16 are competing for last place.

He first stated a little bigger than a rabbit and cheap. Then he said deer . In NL were not allowed to hunt coyote with any thing bigger than a 22 caliber, any thing bigger than a yote and it has to be a bigger cal than a .223. So can he hunt deer and yotes with the same gun? The only reason for buying these so called black guns are because the AR15 is restricted. The NR black rifle are all overpriced anyway, and are mostly used for plinking and fun, so just buy the one, that looks best to you, they'll all do pretty much the same thing. Regards to accuracy , that's gonna be expensive or bolt action. By accuracy I'm talking 200 yards and out. Any thing under a slug will do

Well sorry I don't have a 1moa target for you nor a bench rest in the woods to maximize the accuracy. 3x scope at 250 yards leaves a lot of room for operator error.

Go google su16 accuracy and you will see the results most people are getting.

I used to own one, and worked loads up for it. I'm well aware of its accuracy potential, or lack thereof.

What NR Black rifle , tack driver , you using now? :)

CSA VZ58 .223 with the ar magazine conversion absolutely love mine even though some of the early ones had issues mines been quite well to me. T97nsr isn't bad just has the terrible ergonomics. Those are proble your best options for sub 1500. If you have patients you might be able to find a non restricted ar-108b they usually run around 1500 and are quite collectable. Hope this helps.

I did that AR conversion for my 5.56 Vz 58 but the rifle chipped away at the rear of the followers and then later causes the last round bolt open to no longer work because the follower is so badly chewed up. Eventually, it turns into like an AK style magazine bolt hold open where the follower is just kind of holding the bolt open but then you go to remove the magazine and the bolt closes. Then it just straight up won't hold the bolt open anymore. Hopefully this doesn't happen to you but its what happened to me and I eventually got fed up with it and switched back to factory.

I know but the current non restricted alternatives to the AR are still less capable than a mid range AR, twice the cost and hard to get parts for.

And what makes you think the mpar is going to be any better? Why would you wait 2 years or more for a rifle you don't know is going to be reliable and don't even know if it will be non-restricted.
