If you have astigmatism in your eyes you could try a prism scope, it eliminates the issues with a red dot, usually has an etched reticle that also eliminates battery issues, BUT it will have a definite eye relief position.
And if that test isn't enough, take a piece of paper, poke a hole in it with a pin, and look through the red dot as normal. Sucks finding out you have astigmatism.

i just picked up a sightmark red dot..the one that looks like an Eotech. comes with choice of 4 reticles. Very clear reticles...more so than my eotech's. First time i used it,.it kept turning off after each shot. I then googled it and found that the connection spring from the battery cap had issues. stretched the wire,...now works great. no issues. $90. bass pro usa
