Thomas, I only mention the kydex cheekpieces and buttspacers+standard buttpad as effective cheaper alternatives that can be offered and easily fielded minus the weight and expense.
For a dedicated precision stock on a target rifle, I'd like to see something more like a proper embedded cheekpiece lifter such as:

Again, buttspacers are easy, which I like but a hardcore target model could go with something like this:

It is hard to tell from the pics you posted since there isn't a direct profile pic of the rifle. I really like the vertical necking of the grip(which I have also done on a project).
How much higher is the comb? How much effect does it have on using standard ironsights(moot point since a target rifle of this nature is probably scoped, but entertain me please)? ie if one were to transition to irons, would one end up goosenecking sideways to see?
yes, we are thinkin along the same lines hehehe
BUT the base model of the m14sa2 is not specifically a target stock. It is designed to be the basis for a precision stock and an all around hunting stock due to it's ergonomics.
I'll probably offer this stock with several variations from kydex riser/spacers right up to exactly the gadgets winz shows in his pics.
BUT I would also like to offer an entry level version that is a lower price point. to handcraft a stock as I do and be able to sell it in the 500.00 ballpark...... the fancy risers and buttpad adjustment devices will have to be upgradeable options.
if i have my way, this stock will also have an oprod guide block like the sage stocks have...... but i'm still working on that option.
as for sling swivel studs and bipod mounts/studs...... I agree, 2 studs up front for the sling and bipod...... or a short picatinny rail and seperate sling stud.
that said... what do most folks prefer for bipod mounting..... a rail mount type or sling stud mounting type?
as for the current cheek position of the stock in the pic..... I have lowered it very slightly from my original m14sa2 design so as to allow for use of the irons without slouching into the coomb. everyone's facial geometry is different, but for me i can transition from irons to optics with ease with the current coomb position.
at this point in the game, the key to any stock i make is the action inlet itself.
given time and imagination..... I can make the external shape of the stock to what ever i can dream up.
on the list for future models to be released will be a standard stock
an E2 stock
the m14s-cqb
maybe, due to requests a small run of dragunov style
and i've been toying with the idea of an underfolder m14 stock LOL
