Thanks, but I expect many retailers are as much in the dark as we are with what exactly is permitted now. The whole "and all variants" clause in the new prohibited list is extremely vague. What is and isn't an AR-15 variant exactly?
I expect it will be some time before we actually have any clear idea (other than what is explicitly named on the new list) what is actually allowed vs prohibited.
This thread is incredible. In just a few posts:

2. If I simply didn't understand what I was doing I wouldn't post lengthy, detailed posts with links for fact checking.

5. Seriously though, you're accusing me of posting a thread listing things for the "antis" and "making it easy". Easy like oh I don't know maybe:
- a series of stickied threads outlinging exactly whatI have surmised?
- numerous picture threads, gazilions of "look what I bought" or "X rifle review by Armchair specialist AnalCigar"
- every single online gunstore
- the RCMP (you might of heard of them)
- the Poly group who literally have a PDF showing several of the guns not banned
- my cat Gary's gaze of hatred
I know it's hard for some of you to comprehend but there's no super secret knowledge that we keep hidden from the RCMP with cackling dwarfes and ###ually frustrated piranha fish.
This thread is about helping people buy more NR rifles and being aware of what is available.

Anyway, I think I’ve answered my own question above about whether any of these rifles are possibly considered AR-15 variants. If a rifle on this list was non-restricted, it can’t possibly be an AR-15 variant since all AR-15 variants were previously restricted. So, unless named explicitly on the new ban list, these are all in the clear and remain non-restricted for now.

Thank you for starting a list. I am in need of a new 308 rifle to shoot for fun instead of my LRB M14.
Been debating going for a 308 Garand or maybe looking into a Famae.
Who knows with time all the semis could be banned. I look to the New Zealand list to see where the libs want to take this. But for now I want as many semis as I can.

People ought to buy up all that they can responsibly afford to help out our dealers and grow the hobby.
The idea that nobody should speak their mind because someone, somewhere might use their post to plan future restrictions is over the top. The more people there are who own and use these guns, the weaker the argument for banning them becomes. Just look at how the government's acknowledgement that many natives hunt with some of the recently banned models made their subsequent statements sound silly.

I find it sad that you guys always say you want to grow the sport but so quickly attack a newbie with a question. Saying he must be a liberal gun grabber. No i dont have many posts or a trader rating. Thats because im new and spend more time reading what you experienced guys have to say.

The reality is most of what’s left, the none-restricted, were submitted to the horse cops for classification. I’m fairly sure they kept a list. I’m on the fence as to wether a post like this is will give the gun control lobby a shopping list of what’s still on the market but I’m equally sure they also have their list as well.
For the moment I’ve chosen to believe that a post like this will be helpful to shooters who have up to now had no interest in platforms other than the AR and have limited knowledge on the subject.
The lobby clearly has the ear of the liberal party. The ban list appears to be right off their website.
We all know they are clueless as to firearm types.
