A thin grip, non 1911, 9mm.

Of polymers Ive had. The sr9 was by far the thinnest for a double stack. After that the m&p felt nice and slimmer than a glock. Fns9l was nice and felt familiar to a 1911 in terms of grip and natural feel.

Of the 3 I would personally get the m&p, and after being able to handle a ver 2 today I seriously thinking of getting one again. The new grip has a much improved feel.

Hope this helps.

If you've got the cash a P210 or S&W 952 are excellent. If not then a P220 is a great choice.

I understand not wanting another 1911, but if that platform works for you why discount it? Lots of good 9mm options for the 1911.

I had 2 BHP ( FN and a FEG ) and shot them in the army. Its not to 1911 for me. Just owing 3 1911s and a 22/45. Kinda time to step away.

I found the grip on the 225/or 228 too short.
Beretta never was my thing, I owned a compact and still brickish.

The FN interested me. But not sure if anyone around me has one.

SR9 is about as thin as they get for a dbl stack. M&P9, BHP, CZ75/85 are next in line.

Just not a fan of Ruger QC, I had some issues with them.

Just a bit worry on Ruger QC. I had it out with the warranty department.

I believe those would be too big.

Another gun I wouldn't mind trying but gotta see if someone has one local.

Bought a new house so some of my toys probably have to go.

Need something with a longer grip, If its anything like the 228 my pinky hung off the mag.

I be shooting PPC, so need something newer. Also I got a CZ 52, also I think a Tok be close to a 1911. But I'll be getting one for my Russian gun collection.

Zastava M57 (7.62 x 25) and (M70 9mm) are identical in size and shape; narrow grips, and longer grip (mag holds one more shot than a Tokarev) Nicely made and can be found new for $250 -300. Well made, easy to strip and super reliable.

Love, hate relationship. I got a 9mm 1911 but its sitting in a Hera Arms CPE chassi. Because it kept on hitting me in the forehead with the brass. Also wasn't a fan of the Novak sights on it.

I'm going to shoot PPC, so Tok is out of the question. Esp 7.62x25.

FN Browning Hi Power in 9mm (or the 40 without SFS), good enough for the Allies and the Axis in WW2, will last many generations and the grip even with Pachmyer wrap around finger groove grips is still thin- it's NOT a 1911

FNS 9L......A Great gun to shoot. Grips fit my hand much better than my Colt 1911. Comes with a flat and rounded backstrap. I'm really impressed with it.

Try one of the S&W 3rd gen pistols. Nice grip, and built like a brick. I prefer the original 39, but it's prohibs so something a little later would likely work better. - dan

That was going to be my suggestion but more like a 639, all stainless. But these are all prohibited unless you get a longer barrel.

For a double stack, a Browning HP is hard to beat and is not prohibited.

If you're doing the PPC thing and are looking for a single stack look for the 952. Essentially the single stack version of the PPC9; a very sweet shooter.

HK P2000? It's double-stack but not bulky...

If you can own 12(6), S&W 2nd/3rd gen autos are a good fit for smallish hands as others have mentioned. A 5906/5904 with the small grip is a great fit for my med sized mitts.

Its not a hardcore PPC club, Just an hour Friday night for a fun match. So I don't really need a serious comp gun. But those single stack S&W are harder to find.
