A very happy nine year old! (April 9 Update on page 4: First range visit today!)

Love the face; you can definitely tell she enjoyed her present!

What age did you start her at? I've got an up-and-coming shooter and a family range membership...

My son at 10 years old. Notice that he use his stronger left eye! :)

My youngest daughter tried shooting a real rifle last summer for the first time--a Henry Mini-bolt .22 borrowed from my Dad. She was a little small but she really loved it.

So, for her ninth birthday she got her very own, with stylin' orange stock.

(don't worry, the action's open and muzzle is pointed well away from everyone)

She took no time in personalizing the rifle.

and now we can't wait to try it out! Presenting, Canada's latest Gun Nut!

That's awesome Master

We finally had a chance to try it out today--it's been a looong winter here! We had a great time and the rifle worked well (except for a few misfires with the Winchester Dynapoint ammo). It was a great day!

Here she is shooting (she's a bit bigger than last summer--you can see her stance is better than in post #1):

First target (not bad!)

Second target (even better--two 10s, a 9 and two 7s)

Thats great, its great to see young kids enjoying shooting.

Also how is that mini bolt? I was looking at them for my 10 year old brother.

sweet!

I took my 9yr old daughter out today as well, bought her a TC Hotshot .22lr (chosen over the pink savage cub :D). Groups were not as good as your little one but she did get some on paper. Just wish I had brought the camera.

They're great--the fibre optic sights (green rear and red front) make for easy training, the stock size and weight are perfect for children (my daughter is a little small for her age) but still usable by adults, the trigger pull is good and the fact that you have to #### it each time after working the bolt adds to the safety. You can also put stickers on it :)

Excellent, a hats off to you sir. If I may make a suggestion, instead of engraving something on the plate, seeing as she has her own Idea, why not clear coat the cute bug sticker that fits her so well!! Glad to see her enjoy.

Just saw this thread.

I love her face in the picture where she is holding up her rifle.

Love the orange as well.

Great job Dad - we need more girls in the sport!
